FAQs about My Portfolio

The word boudoir literally translates from French, meaning: "A woman's private sitting room, dressing room, or bedroom." Key word there? Private. That is why a majority of the work I do remains completely private. I do not require that any of my boudoir clients sign a release for their images to become part of my portfolio (there is a contract of course, because I do own the images).

My clients pick and choose their own images - unless they ask me to do it for them. This is a practice I started when I first began my business a year ago, because what I feel is beautiful - the client may not. I do only show clients the best of the best shots (usually 50-60 shots), and then they pick the final images that are edited for purchase (usually 20). I know some photographers reading this are shaking their head or just totally flabbergasted that I am even in business because let's face it, most reputable photographers do not allow their clients to see unfinished shots nor do they allow clients to pick their own images. I have had so many clients thank me for allowing them to do this, because it allows them to really feel beautiful and take a firm hold on their image (literally and figuratively). Boudoir is empowering! And I feel that allowing clients to choose their own images enhances that empowerment!

On several occasions, I have had women contact me because they're interested in booking a session, asking to see all of my images because "none of the pictures have women that look like me." The reason for this, is because while picking and choosing their images - my clients also let me know which images have their permission to be posted on Facebook, this blog portfolio and my main website. I have had several women ask that their images remain a complete secret - sometimes this is because they are teachers, active duty military, government officials or simply because they are shy. And that's okay! I completely respect that, because I know that I personally wouldn't want to show anyone but my husband my own sultry images (I'm not that brave!).

In that respect, I will not ask past clients to allow potential clients the opportunity to see their images without permission. I have had some potential clients ask me "to just ask other clients if I can see them" and my answer has been, and always will be no. My clients' respect and privacy is a top priority.

Whew, now let's continue on with the good times!
